Ms Agarwal’s team is responsible for ensuring that the highest quality of work is performed at each point during the lifecycle of a patent. She is focused on growing the highest quality portfolio for Google.

Ms Agarwal has more than 12 years’ experience in patents, including harvesting patents, educating and advising inventors, running patent committees, charting claims, managing portfolios and drafting, prosecuting and licensing patents, primarily in the United States and European patent jurisdictions. Ms Agarwal is experienced in building high-performing in-house patent engineering teams to improve the quality of patent portfolios while reducing the overall cost.

Before that, he was Head of IP at Dropbox and Director of Patent Enforcement and Director of Patent Development at Apple. Prior to Apple, Dr Alten worked at Morrison & Foerster in Tokyo, focusing primarily on patent litigation, adversarial licensing, strategy and counselling. Previously, he worked at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett, & Dunner in Washington DC and at Fish & Neave in New York City. She has created Infosys’s IP doctrine, simplified its licensing and adopted a return-on-investment-centric approach to IP. He also represents Dolby at patent pools to promote the market adoption of various standardised technologies. Prior to Dolby, Mr Chao was Senior Patent Counsel at One-Red, a SEP pool formed by Philips, Sony, Pioneer and LG Electronics, where he managed global patent enforcement actions. He also worked at Edwards Vacuum (an Atlas Copco company) and FormFactor, where he was responsible for patent portfolio management and all IP-related matters.

Previously, Mr Chao practised patent law at K&L Gates and Duane Morris. He has an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, a JD from the University of New Hampshire and an MS/BS from the National Chiao Tung University.

He has worked in India and the United States, and has a deep industry and IP knowledge of both countries.

Mr Singharoy conducts patent reviews of businesses and advises counsels on R&D, new product development, marketing, procurement, HR and supply-chain functions. He also assists companies with IP and technology development, transactional business matters, contract negotiations and the protection of their IP assets.

Previously, Mr Singharoy led the IP protection and commercialisation department of pharmaceutical company Venus Remedies and was instrumental in developing its large IP portfolio and devising commercialisation strategies.

Mr Singharoy is registered with the Indian Patent Office and has practised IP law for 10 years. He has successfully led patent opposition and defended against oppositions to patents and trademarks before the Indian Patent and Trademark Office.

Dr Sircar was associate vice president and head of intellectual property at Infosys Limited for over five years. He was responsible for all IP activity at Infosys and its subsidiaries. Before this, he was head of the IP department at Biocon Group – a premier biotechnology company in Bangalore, India – and was instrumental in setting up its IP practices.

Dr Sircar has two PhDs, one in science and the other in law. He has worked extensively in most fields of intellectual property during his career and has spearheaded several acquisitions programmes, in both the in and out-licensing of intellectual property. In 2010 he featured in the Lex Witness’s Hall of Fame: Top 50 as a prominent player in India’s legal sector.

Mr van Eeuwijk became a Dutch and European Patent Attorney at Philips, with a focus on consumer electronics devices. He has held a variety of roles, including management responsibility at Philips, ranging from creating new IP, to licensing IP and counselling on IP matters with third parties. Mr van Eeuwijk was a key member of the team that determined the split of the IP assets between Royal Philips and Philips Lighting when the two companies separated.
