David Blanco is Assistant General Counsel of Asia and Africa at Bayer CropScience (formerly Monsanto). Among other responsibilities, he is the law business Partner for corporate engagement and government affairs in Asia-Pacific. Mr Blanco ensures that there is a positive business and investment climate for Monsanto across the region, including by promoting respect for IP rights, science-based regulation and reasonable foreign direct investment rules and advising on matters such as crisis management, critical incident response, business continuity, anti-counterfeiting, compliance investigations, privacy and operational risk management.

Mr Blanco has a successful track record advising both Bayer and Monsanto on how to successfully manage challenging regulatory environments, compliance and anti-counterfeiting issues. He is a leading member of the Asia-Pacific Core Response Team for Compliance Investigations (including trade compliance and procurement) and is the region’s leading expert in responding to antitrust and regulatory investigations and anti-counterfeiting and labour disputes.

With more than a decade of experience in IP, Ms Dhar has worked with universities and corporate and governmental clients to help them to power innovation and make confident IP decisions. She has worked across the IP lifecycle and her areas of expertise include prior art searches, patent analytics and IP management. She has conducted several IP awareness workshops and speaks regularly at innovation and IP events. Before joining Clarivate Analytics, Ms Dhar worked with IBM and Evalueserve.

Ms Dhar graduated from Punjab Engineering College in India with a degree in electronics and telecoms engineering. It was her training at the World Intellectual Property Organisation summer school in South Korea that led her to a career in IP.

Denis Diop has worked at FERNBACH-Software Ltd for eight years. FERNBACH provides an accounting and valuation solution called FlexFinance to banks which account for their financial instruments under International Financial Reporting Standard 9. Dr Diop joined FERNBACH’s London office in 2011 and later moved to the company’s headquarters in Luxembourg. For the past two years, Dr Diop has lived and worked for FERNBACH in Indonesia and Singapore.

Dr Diop is dually qualified and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales and the German Bar. He has a PhD from Humboldt University in Berlin and an LLM in international business law focusing on international comparative copyright law and IP transactions from Queen Mary University in London. Dr Diop is about to graduate from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with an executive MBA later in 2019.

Dr Kamonsatikul is responsible for technology and IP analysis and valuation in order to support SCG’s technology business investments.

Dr Kamonsatikul has a BSc in chemistry and a PhD in materials science and engineering from Mahidol University. He has also worked as a Researcher and IP Specialist in industrial sectors. Dr Kamonsatikul has published 6 scientific papers on catalysis technology.

Jason Kang is Group Counsel in Intel Corporation’s law and policy group. He manages Intel’s worldwide graphics IP portfolio and has extensive experience in patent drafting, prosecution, appeals and post-grant proceedings. He performs strategic offensive and defensive patent reviews and advises the business units on IP matters. He also manages Intel’s pro bono programme in Asia and has assisted several non-profit organisations with their legal needs.

Mr Kang has a BEng (hons) in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), an MSc in integrated circuit design from Nanyang Technological University and an LLB (hons) from the NUS Faculty of Law. He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and serves on the IP Practice and Cybersecurity and Data Protection Committees of the Law Society of Singapore. He is a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys and the Singapore Law Academy.

Before joining AT&T, Mr Kaufman co-founded mobile transportation company RideCell and led marketing for Elastic Networks, taking the company public and later through acquisition. Before joining IP Bridge, Mr Konno co-founded Morphlabs, Inc, a US venture company specialising in global cloud platform software. Mr Konno began his career as an IT Network and Database Engineer.

Mr Kosasih is responsible for the professional development of the GO-JEK Group’s legal team, focusing on the innovative thinking needed to implement legal automation at GO-JEK.

Before joining TUG, Ms Netsuwan advised on and managed patent-related matters at Thailand’s largest government-funded research institute, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Before joining the finance industry, Mr Toh was a Process Engineer in the semiconductor industry. He is a member of the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) Listings Advisory Committee and is Independent Director of SGX-listed iFast Corp. Lily Tsen started her career at a top-tier international law firm before joining Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific (AFAP) as a secondee from the corporate and M&A practice of one of Australia’s leading commercial law firms. Originally based in Melbourne, Ms Tsen was tasked with assisting AFAP after Amcor demerged its Australasia and packaging distribution business. That work culminated in Ms Tsen joining Amcor permanently as the inaugural General Counsel for AFAP, after having provided extensive support for several significant regional projects and initiatives.

Ms Tsen is now based at AFAP’s regional headquarters in Singapore and works closely with its senior leadership team and country businesses, as well as Amcor’s corporate functions, to provide legal and regulatory solutions.

Ms Tsen has spoken at numerous international conferences talking on topics relating to legal and regulatory risk and compliance.

With more than 20 years’ experience in Asia, Dr Upton has held senior roles at a number of multinationals, including Motorola and Mentor Graphics, where he was responsible for regional software IP licensing.

Dr Upton set up the Asian operations of TTPCom, a software and hardware IP developer for mobile devices, and established its offices in Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei and Singapore. His industry experience covers a range of business sectors, including mobile communications, healthcare, consumer electronics, semiconductors, automotive and industrial.

Dr Upton has a PhD in electronics from the University of York and was awarded a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Postdoctoral Fellowship in computational electromagnetics from Concordia University, Montreal.
