A former Singapore-registered patent agent with more than eight years’ patent prosecution experience, Mr Ho previously served as the Director of Singapore’s IP Academy and is currently a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Agents and the Licensing Executives Society in Singapore.

Jason Kang is Group Counsel in Intel Corporation’s law and policy group. He manages Intel’s worldwide graphics IP portfolio and has extensive experience in patent drafting, prosecution, appeals and post-grant proceedings. He performs strategic offensive and defensive patent reviews and advises the business units on IP matters. He also manages Intel’s pro bono programme in Asia and has assisted several non-profit organisations with their legal needs.

Mr Kang has a BEng (hons) in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), an MSc in integrated circuit design from Nanyang Technological University and an LLB (hons) from the NUS Faculty of Law. He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and serves on the IP Practice and Cybersecurity and Data Protection Committees of the Law Society of Singapore. He is a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys and the Singapore Law Academy.

Brian Selby is vice president of licensing and technology at GE Ventures. He focuses on accelerating the growth of the company’s strategic initiatives by leveraging its intellectual property with customers, businesses and global research centres outside North America. He is based in Singapore.

Before joining GE, Mr Selby spent 11 years on the senior leadership team at Elemica Inc, a global cloud-based supply chain management solutions company providing modular, scalable supply chain management cloud applications to capital intensive manufacturing industries. Before joining Elemica, Mr Selby spent nine years at GE in various roles within its corporate and plastics divisions, including business development, sourcing and commercial sales. He began his career as a lawyer in the United States, focusing on international trade, mergers and acquisitions and commercial litigation.

Mr Selby has a JD from Chicago Kent College of Law and an AB in history from the University of Chicago.

Brian Wong is head of intellectual property for the surgical optics division of Hoya Corporation and has worldwide responsibility for all patent management and strategy, research contracts and agreements and licensing.

Mr Wong also drives open innovation by aligning Hoya’s IP and business strategies and focusing on business development and partnerships with small and medium-sized enterprises and universities. Before joining Hoya, he worked in the technology transfer office at the National University of Singapore, where he led the life sciences team in IP management and start-up establishment. He has also held various positions in the biotech and diagnostic industries in the United States.

Mr Wong has a degree in chemistry from Northwestern University and a PhD in the same subject from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Heng Loon Wong heads Amadeus’s commercial IP team, which handles the company’s trademark portfolio, open source management and all types of IP transaction. Mr Wong has more than 15 years’ experience in the IP field and was previously a research engineer on digital signal processing technologies. He then became a patent and IP professional, working in both private practice and in-house positions as a patent attorney dealing with patent drafting and prosecution, as well as providing advice on general IP matters. At Amadeus, Mr Wong is involved in all transactional aspects of intellectual property, as well as defining the company’s overall IP strategy.
